Clown Party Precautions

For some people, there is a bit of resistance to hiring a clown to perform a clown party for their kid’s mainly out of a deep rooted psychological fear whose origins derive from a very famous episode of THE FLINTSTONES.

For those unfamiliar with that famous episode, the central conflict involved the birthday clown earmarked for Pebble’s and Bam Bam’s birthday party ended up at the Water Buffalo Lodge where his presence and humorous act was hardly appreciated. In fact, he was downright abused. (Yes, kid’s programming was a bit more harder edged in those days) Perhaps it served the birthday clown right for not realizing that he just might have shown up at the wrong party! Then again, had he left there would not have been much of an episode!

In a way, this infamous clown party episode may have burned a belief in the collective unconscious of parents across the world that a clown party is a disaster waiting to happen if there is a mix up and the clown either doesn’t show up or goes to the wrong address. These psychological hindrances can easily be removed if people simple follow a few precautions prior to the commencement of the clown party.

First, always make sure the clown knows exactly when and where the party is. Second, be sure that the clown provides a reliable way to get a hold of him or her such as a cell phone in order to make sure that everything is ok if the clown runs late. Also, keep you lines of communication open so that the clown can contact you in case something comes up that may interfere with the clown’s ability to perform at a clown party. A little bit of proper quality control will go a long way so be sure to employ it before launching a clown party for your kids.
